Lingering Side Effects

The past few weeks have been an adventure. Not so much like the past 8 months, but still an adventure. I'm still pretty weak, but getting stronger every day. I've been trying to work out on the treadmill, but can only walk like 1/4 of a mile at a time. My feet and ankles have been killing me from standing and walking and my back is still hurting. On the upside, my hair has started growing back and my nails have grown back. They are extremely weak and break when I just tap them, but at least I have nails. Any ideas on how to make them stronger? I'm still not working, my doctor hasn't cleared me yet, but I hope to go back part-time in February. Still ready to get back to "normal" life. Thanks for checking in and I'll keep ya posted after my appointment.

Ringing in the New Year

I had a doctor's appointment on December 31st, the last and final day of 2008. I'm very ready to get 2008 behind me and see what God has in store for me in the near future! All of my bloodcounts were great and even my platelets were up to 136. This appointment was perfect because I was able to say I was completely finished before 2009.

In my doctor's office, there is a bell called Robyn's bell. Each patient rings it when they are done with treatment. I was able to literally ring in the new year because of this. Thank you so much to the ETMC Cancer Institute for this sweet dedication.

The story behind the bell- Robyn's Bell.  This joyous bell is dedicated on the occasion of her birthday to Robyn M. Rogers for her personal courage and gracious support with appreciation from the ETMC Cancer Institute and the East Texas Medical Center Foundation.  For our patients- Ring out the bell loud and true as you celebrate completion of your treatment!  September 26, 2007
